Early Morning on High Rock Lake

It was a balmy 32 degrees when I snapped these photos this morning. I took 90 percent of them from inside the car. Still even when I stepped outside, I hardly noticed the cold because of the spectacular sunrise that was taking place.  Today was a first for me.  I saw no boats, fishermen or boat trailers at the  access. Normally there is always one or two boats launching or fishing nearby. I did notice one vehicle in the parking lot with no boat trailer, this must have been a shoreline fisherman. There were plenty  of sea gulls that were diving at a nearby school of shad. The low light level with the sun coming up behind the gulls, prevented me from getting a good shot of the birds.  Because the colors of the twilight were so good, I decided to leave the access area before the sun even came up. To me the twilight hours before a sunrise and after a sunset are much more beautiful than seeing the sun  itself  most  of the time. Perhaps that is the way in life, the early years are the best and the later years are even better.     My life is on he setting side of the sun now and I've learned to appreciate special moments like today a lot more. Below is a slideshow of some of the pictures I took
