Saturday's Fishing Report

NP and I got down to the lake around mid afternoon. Fishing is normally not good this time of day, but we did manage to catch a few. This time we used the boat. We fished along our dock from the boat and caught 5, turns out this would be most fish we caught from any one place. Later we returned, having caught only a few, but the boat ride was nice. It always feels great to get out on the water.

We tried our secret bait, but I think the magic had left. We left the lake around 5:30 to eat dinner nearby. NP and I decided to give it one more try, because 7 pm is usually the magic hour for fishing this time of year. We caught a few more fish and NP even tried to fish for the large "Flat Heads", without much success. Our total catch ended being 23 crappie(75% those were caught in fron of our own pier). The catches were strung out over several hours, so it wasn't as exciting as the previous trip. Weekend fishing is never as good, I think it has to do with the increased boat traffic. Our next trip probably won't be until Thursday evening and maybe we will do a little on "Good Friday", before NP goes back.
