"It's not the Size of the Fish, it's the heart of the Fisherman that matters most!" ncoutlander

Our fishing report for this past weekend was very dismal. Saturday evening we(not me) caught several small channel cats, the largest being around 6lbs. Sunday's fishing wasn't much better. Our success on boating weekends is usually dismal. We still had a wonderful time, fish or no fish.

I did see my son's heart grow a little more. Neal Patrick hooked what I thought at the time was a very large catfish. Immediately after hooking the fish, he handed the rod over to his grandfather to reel in. I remember how it used to be the other way around, dad handing him the rod when he was a little boy. Sunday was a great turning point in his life. NP began to display the attributes of the fisherman I want him to be. Neal Patrick didn't know whether or not the fish was large or small he had just hooked and handed off to his grandfather. Seeing him do this really pleased me. This time NP was the one giving advice to his grandfather on how to land a fish. It was very touching to see, that the torch had been passed successfully, from father to son and now to grandson.
