My Mantra
"Never Do Today, What You Can Do Tomorrow!"
I had a choice of enjoying the lake today or mowing. Tomorrow's mowing will always be there for me. The only time I take mowing seriously is when I can't see the bushes around my house. On the plus side I can say that I have an Eco Friendly lawn. I can also tell friends who might think I spend to much time fishing, kayaking or sailing, that I'm providing habitat to earth's homeless animals. To make my inattentive lawn seem more in sync with all things good. I will go on to tell them how my yard is free of pesticides and fertilizers that harm the lake, birds or woodland creatures. These are all valid illusory reasons to tell them why I haven't mowed recently.
In my perfect world, this would work, however like most, I do have to keep up with the Jones who live on each side of me. Lucky for me, that my Jones aren't lawn care fanatics. We all play that game of "Chicken" seeing who is going to mow they yard last. I don't always win, which is a good thing. There seems to be a balance in the force here. I find the same "force" is just as strong within them, that is within me. They to listen, when the voice of the lake reminds them "never do today, what you can do tomorrow. "Carpe Diem" for something you would much rather do, like going fishing this morning.
