How I Feel After Hearing Clipboard is Shutting Down!

Over the years I have discovered users really don't have many options when a website shuts down, other than exporting their data. I've tried moving my Clipboard clips to Pinterest, but have found  this is a very slow and tedious process. Clipboard Users  may be able to pin some of their clips quickly via a couple PInterest Extensions in Chrome. I have tried both extensions,  which I find are very similar. I finally settled on this extension . Still neither Pinterest Chrome extension will acknowledge  all your Clipboard Clips, which can be a little frustrating. I decided  it is actually best to pin what you can with the extension  just to get started. Once you have set up the basic of your boards, my advice is to start pinning new stuff immediately.  If you are like me, downloading your archives and pinning them one by one, will be to time consuming and not worth the effort.
Be sure as a final Clip, to post  a farewell and thank you, but you can follow me here page.

While I know the news for Clipboard and it's development team is a good one,  it still "sucks" for the "users".  I've learned like most sites, that one should never expect any social website to last more than 1-2 years. Before Clipboard I was a user of Clipmarks, Amplify, Write-On-Glass, Google Wave, Google Buzz and Google Reader. All have bitten the Bullet. Hopefully Pinterest will be around a little longer, but I really don't expect it to have a long run. The only constants I've experienced so far have been Blogger and Twitter. Change is always difficult, but on the plus side, sometimes it is for the better!  The disappearance of a favorite website  allows us to make new friends and  followers.  We also discover in the process of going to a new site, who the real friends and followers are. No we don't have any options, but what do you really expect when you pay "nothing" for the use of a site. Once again we as user feel like the "used" instead of being the user.
Still you have to admit, "Clipboard was totallyAwesome"      and it's sad to see it go.

Special Thanks to all those who have followed and liked my clips over the years!
