Early Morning on High Rock Lake |
Normally my photos in the past have been of sunsets on High Rock Lake. This year I decided to start including some Sunrise Photos. Maybe when the water temperatures warm up some, I'll venture out on the lake to take more Sunrise Pics from a few different places. Right now I'm content visiting the nearby Wildlife Access Area. I know come Spring, the access area won't look as desolate as it does now. This is why it's the perfect time for me to take photos from this particular location. Above is one on many pics I took today. The brilliant colors you see have been enhanced some via my Fuji HS30exr camera, which in layman's terms is what is called a point and shoot camera. I do however use manual settings which allows me to take a little better photo. One day when I feel I'm good enough, I might break down and buy a Nikon 7000 or Nikon D5200. When I got back home I tweaked my photos a little more with Gimp(Image editing programe similar to photoshop but free). I believe you will find that 99 percent of all those amazing sunrise and sunset photos you see use similar settings to accentuate the colors like I did. Such settings and edits are wonderful for the travel business. Never the less the sunrise was still beautiful. I could tell this was going to be a good one when I looked out the window, so I grabbed my camera and road 2 miles up the road to capture this one. When I arrived there was only one other person, who was launching his boat. We chatted a bit about fishing and I told him about the location of some Stripers that were biting in the area. It was a great way to start what turned out to be a perfectly beautiful day.
