Testing Fuji HS30exr 30x zoom

The main reason I went with the Fuji HS30exr over the Nikon D5100 had to do with the mega zoom features. Duplicating that capability with the Nikon would have cost me another $1200 in lens. Since I'm more into wildlife photography and landscapes, I needed a camera that could reach out, without breaking my pocket book. I still hope to get the Nikon D5200 when it comes out, however it will be more for those close shots.

Below are a few of the pics I took to test the 30 x zoom. The first two photos were taken when visibility was poor. I even used a tripod to steady my shots which I took from my dock. The last 3 I took yesterday from my deck, which is a 150 ft back from my dock. No tripod was used.

The subject was almost a mile away. I used the 30x zoom first, then tested the 1.4x digital and 2x(which boost you to 60x)

My only negative I saw when using the 1.4x or 2x digital is that you lose the continuous shoot feature, you don't on the 30x.

I guess a big plus to getting the raynox 2.2 lens adapter is you can use the continuous feature when zoomed at 60x. Maybe Fuji will enhance their next hs series by making the 60x continuous.
