At the days end

After returning home from our beach vacation, my son and I decided there really is no better view than the one we have out our own front door. The lake looked awesome tonight. We just sat on the deck chatting about how great it was to look out over the water with the sounds of summer surrounding us. Sorry I didn't take a picture, I was a little on the lazy side. The picture I used here was one I took from our deck a few evenings ago. Tonight's view was somewhat similar.

The two of just sat there on the porch in rocking chairs, like a scene from some movie(of course our movie choice would have been the porch scene from SecondHand Lions, a movie we both loved. We had a nice chat about life and his upcoming school year. Times like this shared with my son  are priceless. The place we live now is a harbor for the both of us and a great refugee from a hectic world.  It's hard to believe neither of us mentioned  fishing or brought up the idea of casting out a line. We have our pontoon tied to the dock ready to launch, however we just enjoyed our view to much to venture out on the water. My son told me we really have no good reason to have a boat, since neither one of us care about boating, unless it's exploring around Harkers Island in a skiff.

Still of Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Haley Joel Osment in Secondhand Lions - http://www.imdb.com/rg/s/1/media/rm279427584/tt0327137
