Can't Believe It's Been Over 2 years Since I last Posted

I guess time flies when you are having fun or not.

My son, who I refer to as NP, is really growing into a fine young man. Our days of fishing together have all but disappeared. The good news is that he lives with me all the time now. This is both a blessing and a curse. He is 17 yrs old ,a rising junior in high school who knows everything. What he doesn't know, I simply ask my sister who is a librarian and lastly I go to Google. Still I'm happy to have him living with me, thorns and all.

Last year I was a kayaking fanatic.

My nephews nicknamed me "Kayak Jack". Several years I was a avid walker, walking over a 1000 miles a year and got the nickname "Walkman". This year I'm trying emulate  Lance Armstrong when he was age 2 ! I have  limited my rides to 10 miles each outing, flat terrain only(maybe a few hills) and  decided to leave  the training wheels off(I love living on the edge).

Sailing is the one hobby of mine I miss most

My sailboat got damaged a few years from a large tree which was floated down the river. The tree ripped the rudder off. The cost to repair vs the cost to buy another sailboat has been a struggle for me, especially with this economy. My increased interest in kayaking had me putting sailing on the back burner. I think I paddled over 600 miles last year.

My love of fishing never diminishes even though I seldom go.

I do go to the lake often, but it's not the same. Mostly it's for work now.  Maintenance  in and around the lake house. The days of Peter Pan are fading, no one likes to play. The beauty of the lake is still very captivating and I still enjoy the beautiful sunsets. I always take my camera and  still love taking a great picture of a landscape, fish or person. Check out my photostream on Flickr . You won't see to many people pictures, but you will see some great  landscapes.

It feels good to blog again

Even though I never had any followers,  I still enjoy expressing my thoughts about life and the things I love. I still continue to learn a lot about life, love and people.  I'm always amazed and learned you can never assume anything. Do you really think that it is true that the older we get, the wiser we get? Me, I'm not to  sure because I still continue to make mistakes.

Maybe it's the older we get, the more we reflect on the past we created.

We look at opportunities missed, misspoken words, things we should done and dreams that never happened. I reflect on the wonderful people who have come and gone in my life over the years, for this I am always thankful. Did I make a difference in their lives? Just because they are no longer present in my life, doesn't mean they are deleted from my heart. I don't think you can ever delete those you love from your heart.

It will be interesting see the direction my blog  takes.

I'm sure what I write will be completely random because after all, I'm a Gemini. We love  skipping  topic to topic.  I only  hope what I post will  be entertaining enough for you to  read.
