Dixie Chicks- I love this song- Kudos to them for doing it

They still get shunned in the Country Music world and I think CMT's awards showed that the other week.

The Dixie Chicks were nominated for video of the year and group of the year — their first such nominations since country radio unofficially banned them.

But the Chicks were nixed in both categories.

The trio has been at odds with country radio since lead singer Natalie Maines told a London audience in 2003 that they were ashamed President Bush was from their home state of Texas.

But even without radio airplay, they managed to win three Grammys and sell 2 million copies of their latest album, “Taking the Long Way.”

“I understand the songs on that album are great, but I listen to country radio so I haven’t heard them yet,” Foxworthy cracked.

The following song "Not Ready to Make Nice" is my tribute post to them for standing up for what they believe in. Rather than try to forget about singer Natalie Maines' anti-Bush remarks of 2003 -- which landed them in hot water with a lot of station program directors -- the threesome declares it's still "Not Ready to Make Nice" and employs Semisonic guy Dan Wilson, Jayhawk Gary Louris and other unlikely contributors to help write hooks as strong as their own sentiments.

I'm not from Texas either, but I am embarassed not only by our President, but by his administration lying to us about the war. I could see the reasons for invading Afghanistan, but it's been proven that we were purposedly lied to about Iraq. The invasion in my opinion was all about oil, who's profits have soared through the roof since that invasion. Our soldiers pay the price, not the people who lied to send them there. It is Vietnam all over again, another cause we were mislead on. The sooner we bring the troops home the better off America will be. Fight the wars that have a true cause. Don't create a war of true cause by lying to the American People and painting anyone who takes a stand against it as being being unpatriotic. I love my country and the freedom of it's people to say what is right and wrong, this is what makes America Great.
