Good Friday- Fishing Report

NP has gone back to his moms, but we had one heck of fishing week. I think we caught somewhere in the neighborhood of 125lbs of fish in our 4 outings. The fishing will actually get better between now and June. I'm sure that NP will land maybe a 50 or 60 pound catfish this summer this summer, at least I'm believing so. We came close to catching a record channel cat last year, but missed it by 3 pounds.

Fishing today was different, we got down to the lake early, around 1:00 pm. The air temperature was in the 50's but it felt nice on the dock. I caught 9 crappie and NP struggled with catching catfish. The picture you see here, shows that NP does at times catch small fish. I think this small flathead catfish weighed around 2 pounds. to use live bream for bait. He got strikes and caught a small one, but it seemed like the large fish preferred the live shad. The fishing was so slow NP even tried baiting the area with croutons and then fishing with one. What was amazing is the fact that he landed a 20lb carp on a crouton. He caught several in the 5lb range. Carp are fun the catch, but Neal Patrick likes catching the big flatheads more.

NP did manage catch one nice bass, which you see here.

I'll miss Neal Patrick, but he will back next Friday and I'm sure the first place he will want to go, will be straight to the lake.
